Palliative Care Fellowships & Rotations
M. D. Anderson's fellowship program offers a unique training opportunity in symptom control and palliative care for cancer patients. All aspects of palliative care are covered, including comprehensive assessment and management of all types of oncologic pain and other symptoms, with emphasis on cachexia, fatigue, dyspnea, anorexia, nausea, delirium, psychosocial and ethical issues. The curriculum includes daily journal clubs, weekly grand rounds, monthly morbidity and weekly mortality conferences, case presentations, Meet the Professor weekly rounds, community bus rounds (as appropriate), research conferences and an annual conference on end-of-life issues. Trainees will also rotate to local hospices for a period of two months to gain experience in non-cancer palliative care.
The following positions are available:
- One-year fellowship training position available, beginning July 1st.
- Observer positions for physicians from the U. S. and overseas for 4-8 weeks and Visitor positions for physicians from the U.S. and overseas up to 4 weeks
