Project: Optically Stimulated Luminescent Detector Characteristics in Proton Beams
I am researching optically stimulated luminescent detectors (OSLD). OSLDs show great promise as a dosimeter but need to be characterized. I will look for any angular dependence on radiation in the dosimeters, compare OSLDs to thermoluminescent detectors in an IMRT treatment plan, and characterize the linearity and reproducibility of OSLDs in a proton beam. After that, I will implement the OSLDs into a pelvic phantom to be used by the Radiological Physics Center in proton dosimetry and quality assurance.
