Project:  Proton Therapy and Assessing Associated Risks of Late Effects

My research deals with proton therapy. Past and current projects include studying the feasibility of proton therapy for a challenging type of tumor, Monte Carlo simulations of the scanning proton beam and its scintillator response in Geant4, and Monte Carlo simulations of multiple Coulomb scattering of the proton beam. Currently, topics within my research group include, but are not limited to, accurate dose per monitor unit calculations for proton therapy, studying out-of-field dose and late effects from proton therapy, and improving risk models. My thesis topic is yet to be determined.
