Project: Modification and Implementation of the RPC Heterogeneous Thorax Phantom for Remote Verification of Proton Therapy Treatment Procedures
The RPC has no existing phantom that is specified for remote off-site lung tumor dosimetry evaluation in Proton beams. My project will be to design and modify an existing phantom for this purpose, including verifying phantom material qualities in the proton bean, and material stopping power. I will them implement the design and compare it to the prescribed dosimetry protocol verifying accuracy of the treatment planning system, so that the phantom can be placed into usage at the RPC.
