Management of COMDAIE for MD Anderson Services Corporation
From its foundation, the MD Anderson Cancer Center of Houston, Texas, had the ambitious mission to eradicate cancer in Texas, the United States and the world. It has been the fulfillment of this mission which has allowed MD Anderson to start up its branch in Madrid, Spain. The Centro Oncológico MD Anderson International España (COMDAIE) was created with the ambition to become the oncology center of Spain and Europe.
Trainee, Staff and Faculty Visits – To assist in the management of the CSSA with COMDAIE, Global Academic Programs coordinates the visits of COMDAIE faculty and staff from Spain to Houston. Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas (CNIO) is a collaborating organization for the co-branded COMDAIE. Global Academic Programs is facilitating interactions between CNIO and COMDAIE to develop translational and clinical research programs at COMDAIE.
Videoconferences – Global Academic Programs collaborates with the Department of Telehealth Services to schedule and support videoconferences between MD Anderson faculty and staff and COMDAIE. These activities help meet the requirements of the Clinical Services Support Agreement (CSSA) with COMDAIE, and include educational programs, administrative meetings, multidisciplinary patient care conferences, surgical grand rounds and radiation oncology conferences.
