Goals for Fiscal Year 2010 (FY10)
During FY10 and the next five years, Global Academic Programs expects to follow its strategic plan, set goals, monitor outcomes through the sunset review policy and adjust that plan through interactions with its sister institution partners and with the Management Committee, department chairs and division heads, faculty, Business Development, the Division of Nursing and Clinical and Translational Research and other appropriate units. The strategic plan and goals may be altered by the outcome(s) of the recent initiative of the president described in the first bullet below; however, the current goals for Global Academic Programs over the course of FY10 include the following:
- Working with the Executive Vice President and Provost Office to outline a strategy on the vision, governance and next steps for MD Anderson and its partners to be the global leaders in oncology
- More explicitly setting and monitoring annual objectives for the various relationships and collaborations
- Further developing the regional and cross-regional strategies for establishing relationships and for translational research and clinical collaborations
- Increasing Web-based information and tools available to support education, research and clinical collaborations
- Increasing collaborations between Sister Institutions (SIs)
- Setting strategies for clinical trials and more effectively establishing and conducting clinical trials with SIs
- Improving training and education exchanges, including management of goals and lead-time, and prioritizing collaboration-related exchanges
- Increasing the use of telehealth programs for continuing education to meet SI needs and protect MD Anderson faculty time
- Planning and execution for the SI conferences
- Completing pending SI agreements
