Goal
The course will give a broad view of nursing care for the patient at the end of life with a focus on hospice and palliative principles. The course has been specially developed to assist registered nurses in preparation for the National Board for Certification of Hospice and Palliative Nurses (NBCHPN) registered nurse certification exam. However, this would be a great educational course for any nurse taking care of patients with advanced disease at the end of life.
Nursing
Nursing Continuing Education Contact Hours will be awarded.
The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This activity meets Type I criteria for mandatory continuing education requirements toward relicensure as established by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
