General Information

This workshop will provide general training and practical knowledge of the clinical aspects of proton therapy physics, treatment planning, and quality assurance (QA). The MD Anderson Proton Therapy Center treats a variety of cancers with proton therapy. The center’s clinical staffs are experts in their fields and have in-depth knowledge and extensive experience for creating optimal proton treatment plans that are both safe and effective. The Proton Therapy Center has also been a pioneer in treating patients with pencil beam technology for a wide range of disease sites, including head and neck cancers using intensity modulated proton therapy (IMPT). This workshop is designed to share the center’s knowledge and experience to help existing and future proton centers master the technique and address potential physics, treatment planning and QA issues at their institutions.

We invite physicists, dosimetrists and physicians around the world who are treating or planning to treat their patients with proton therapy, to attend.
