Education and Outreach

  • TCCN has organized the following educational seminars as a part of the Education/Training and Outreach activities. These educational seminars were open to all of the Texas Medical Center and were in collaboration with the 2011 Scholarly Research Project Seminar Series, at the department of Nanomedicine and Biomedical Engineering, UT Health Science Center.
  1. Biological Applications of Nanoparticles. Presenter: Anil Sood, MD. Professor, Gynecologic Oncology, UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. Venue: UT Health Science Center; June 23, 2011
  2. Targeted delivery of nanoparticles to solid tumors what it takes for successful homing. Presenter: Chun Li, Ph.D. Professor, UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. Venue: UT Health Science Center;
    July 07, 2011
  • TCCN has developed webinars in nanotechnology research. Currently, there are two available, based on the above two seminars; and a third one on computational techniques in nanotechnology is being developed.
  • Educational courses in nanotechnology research are being planned for graduate students. Currently, we are working to include the following courses: Cancer Biology for Nanotechnology applications at MDACC; Computational Biology applications at TMHRI; Biostatistics at MDACC; Aptamers technology for Nanotech applications – UTHSC-H
  • TCCN has sponsored students and postdocs to attend national level conferences in nanotechnology.
