Nutritional Epidemiology Working Group
The Nutritional Epidemiology Working (NEW) group is dedicated to developing a paradigm that fosters evidence-based research in nutrition and cancer prevention, etiology and survival. In order to provide empirically based estimates of dietary intake, the NEW group conducts research in nutritional assessment through diet-biochemical validation studies, in the development and maintenance of food composition databases and in clinical nutrition studies.
The NEW group platform bridges nutritional status, including biochemical, clinical, dietary and anthropometric indices, and integrates nutrition in the discovery of gene-environment interactions in animal and human research. The NEW group core services include dietary tool development, dietary data collection, training for dietary and anthropometric assessment, data management, programming of nutritional status and surveillance and customized service requests.
