Disparities in Health in America: Working Towards Social Justice
Annual Summer Workshop
The 7th Annual Disparities in Health in America Workshop: Celebrating Scholar Entrepreneurs Working Toward Social Justice was held June 20 – 26, 2009, at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and was the best workshop to-date. Approximately 300 attendees and speakers participated, including several high-level government officials and outstanding leaders in the field of health disparities research. Dr. Lovell Jones, professor and director, Center for Research on Minority Health, Department of Health Disparities Research and the Workshop Planning Committee, was especially pleased to see an increase in students and physicians.
