Dr. Arun’s clinical and translational research includes novel drug combinations and targets for breast cancer treatment as well as new prevention agents for breast cancer prevention. Dr. Arun is the principal investigator of several prevention trials with celecoxib, retinoids, anastrazole and statins. Her translational work includes evaluation of single nucleotide polymorphisms and their role in breast cancer; identification of new biomarkers in breast cancer and breast cancer prevention; and refining breast cancer risk assessment models for genetically and non-genetically high-risk women. She is also assessing breast cancer biology in breast cancer patients with mutations in the BRCA 1 or BRCA 2 gene.
