2010 Team Sarcoma Initiative - Houston

The Team Sarcoma Initiative is an internationally coordinated set of events to increase sarcoma awareness and help raise funds to support sarcoma research, clinical trials, and patient/family services. Annual events are held in various cities during the month of July, with the goal of at least 10,000 participants worldwide.

The Sarcoma Research Center at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, along with the Amschwand Sarcoma Cancer Foundation, will host their 4th Annual Team Sarcoma Initiative:

What: “Beat the Heat….Stop, Shop, & Skate for Sarcoma Awareness”
When: Saturday, July 24, 2010
Where: The Houston Galleria, 5015 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX

The Galleria is the largest mall in Texas and the 7th largest in the United States. It has over 3 million total square feet that includes 375 stores and a 20,000 square-foot ice skating facility known as “Polar Ice”. We will begin the event with a breakfast furnished by Chick-fil-A. There will be activities for the children, a short walk around the Galleria designed to increase public awareness about Sarcoma, and will end with a group photo by the ice skating rink to put on our Web site. After the event, we encourage everyone to enjoy the rest of the day with a little shopping, lunch, or ice skating.

We would be delighted and grateful if you could join us in bringing worldwide awareness to this orphan disease.
