Charitable Support for the Chaplaincy
M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and the Chaplaincy Fund, Inc., as well as charitable foundations, denominations, congregations, and individuals provide financial support for the Chaplaincy Department. Donations provide scripture, religious tracts and prayer pamphlets that offer encouragement to our patients. Financial assistance is also needed to underwrite the cost of our Clinical Pastoral Education program. Each year hundreds of individuals, corporations, congregations and foundations assist us in carrying out this important ministry. Contributions include support of the Chaplaincy Department through the Loving Hearts and Caring Hands Annual Awards Dinner, memorial remembrances, and planned giving through charitable gifts annuities, will bequests, and other estate planning opportunities.
Chaplaincy Fund, Inc.
In 1974, an agreement was signed between M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and Lutheran Hospital, Inc. It established the Department of Chaplaincy and Pastoral Education, an institutional and community based Chaplaincy Advisory Committee, and an endowment that would provide supplemental funding for the Chaplaincy Department. The Lutheran Hospital Inc. remains active today, through the Chaplaincy Fund Inc., to secure funding for the Department of Chaplaincy and Pastoral Education. Learn more about the Chaplaincy Fund.
Pacem Alliance
The Pacem Alliance is a group of individuals interested in assisting the interfaith chaplaincy program, by assisting in the Loving Hearts and Caring Hands Awards Dinner and by participating in the volunteer chaplaincy ministry program at M. D. Anderson.
