Open Postdoctoral Fellow Position

The Department of Biostatistics in the Division of Quantitative Sciences at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center has one post-doc position open for computational statistics with applications in biostatistics and bioinformatics. The postdoctoral fellow will work under the supervision of Professors Kim-Anh Do and Kevin Coombes. The primary research focus will be on developing statistical and computational methodology for the analysis of novel high throughput data.
We seek a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. degree in statistics/biostatistics/computer science or related quantitative fields. Must have strong methodology training in statistics/biostatistics; strong programming skills, in particular R/S-PLUS and at least one lower level computer language such as C or Fortran; interest in statistical methodology research. Interest in bioinformatics is a plus. Expertise/skills in the following areas are desirable: analysis of bioinformatics data, MCMC computation experience in R; mixed models; survival models, statistical computation, medical research applications.
