M. D. Anderson’s history is filled with stories of physicians, scientists and others who observed a problem and worked to solve it. The results of their accomplishments have been presented at professional meetings, documented in scientific journals and poster presentations, and reported by the media.

Presented here are examples of contributions made by our faculty that have had a major impact on knowledge about cancer or the treatment of patients with cancer.

The descriptions of each achievement are organized into five categories:

This is not presented as an all-inclusive list, nor is it a record of M. D. Anderson’s “top” discoveries. But it does provide some excellent examples of the type of work we do here.
