Rock Steady

Rock Steady is a new group of M. D. Anderson employees who meet monthly to support and educate one another on weight management issues.

Group Goals
The goals of Rock Steady include support, education, recognition, accountability, health and well being, and celebration of achievements.

Monthly Meetings
During the meetings, individuals will have the optional opportunity to assess several health parameters. Body weight and waist measurement can be taken and recorded by the wellness staff if desired. Body fat testing will be available four times a year*. We will have a 15-minute presentation by a speaker, a question and answer period, testimonials from employees and new product displays and samples.

Rock Steady Prizes!
Recognition badge pins will be presented as they are earned. Each individual will determine her own maintenance weight. Once this weight has been maintained for 3 months (or longer if the individual prefers) the individual will receive a Rock Steady pin. An individual’s weight needs to be within 2% of her goal for 3 months. The first maintenance pins will be presented at our April meeting.  Badge pins will also be presented for a 10%, 20% or 30% weight loss!

*Body fat testing and waist circumference assessments are available at the Employee Health and Well-Being office, located at TMC 1.1300.  Please call 5-WELL to make your appointment with a wellness coach.
