Pyramid Plate
Pyramid Plate & Pyramid Picks are available in the food court Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
This healthy meal is based on the new Food Guide Pyramid that focuses on balance, moderation and variety of fresh foods, and utilizes low-fat and low-sodium food preparation techniques.
Each Pyramid Plate consists of:
- 3 - 4 ounces of lean meat or protein
- 1 serving of grains
- 1 serving of vegetable
- 1 serving of fruit or salad
- 1 whole grain roll
- Medium non-caloric fountain drink, like diet soda or plain iced tea (Purchase fat-free milk to include all dairy groups in your Pyramid Plate)
Each Pyramid Plate is designed to provide at least one-third of the daily nutrients that are recommended by the U.S. Dietary Guidelines for adults based on a 2000-calorie diet.
Specifically each Pyramid Plate provides:
- 450 to 550 calories
- 30% or less of calories from fat
- 10% or less of calories from saturated fat
- trace amount of trans fat
- 5 grams or more of fiber
- 800 milligrams or less of sodium
