Massage Therapy

Massage therapy enhances well-being and has been shown to:

  • Reduce stress
  • Decrease the number and intensity of headaches
  • Decrease anxiety and depression
  • Decrease back pain and problems
  • Increase flexibility and healing
  • Helps increase concentration and focus

Employee Health & Well-being offers massage therapy three times a week.

The cost is $18 for a 20 minute massage, payable to the therapist at the time of service.

  • Tuesdays - 12:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.: McGovern Visitors Gallery, Green Zone, second floor, near escalator
  • Wednesdays - 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Ambulatory Care Building, West lobby, near elevator P
  • Thursdays - 12:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.: McGovern Visitors Gallery, Green Zone, second floor, near escalator

To best accommodate you, appointments are preferred but walk-ups are welcome. Please speak with the therapist to schedule an appointment:

Looking for a great reward for your staff? Consider massage therapy!

To schedule a massage therapist for your department contact Michele Nelson-Housley at 713-745-6915. A minimum 2-hour block is required. The following fee schedule is in effect as of 08/30/2005:

  • $45 per hour for 1 therapist = 10 minute massages, 4 massage clients per hour
  • $50 per hour for 1 therapist = 15 minute massages, 3 massage clients per hour
  • $45 per hour for 1 therapist = 20 minute massages, 2 massage clients per hour
