Mandatory Retirement Programs
At every stage in your career, MD Anderson invests in your future through several retirement plans. All employees participate in Social Security and either TRS or ORP. Each plan includes contributions by both the employee and MD Anderson.
Teacher Retirement System
Teacher Retirement System (TRS) is a defined benefit retirement plan that is legislated by the state of Texas and provides a set amount of money at retirement. This is an extremely rich and unique benefit.
Optional Retirement Plan
The Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) is a defined contribution plan which means that the benefit is determined by market performance. Employees are invited to join ORP based on their job title.
The Social Security Administration is a federal agency that provides benefits for eligible person including retirement pensions, Medicare, and disability income.
