What does OTC do?
What does the Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC) do?
MD Anderson’s Office of Technology Commercialization is responsible for the assessment, patenting and out-licensing of inventions and technologies developed at MD Anderson. Our vision is to be a leader in technology commercialization through innovative technology transfer and active venture development to aid in fulfilling MD Anderson’s mission of Making Cancer History® by:
- Contributing to MD Anderson’s research and education resources
- Bringing opportunities to scientists, the institution and friends of MD Anderson
- Assisting faculty in developing and commercializing their inventions
- Bringing new treatments to patients
OTC is not responsible for sponsored research agreements, collaboration agreements, grants, or materials transfer agreements with other academics. These are handled through Legal Services or Grants and Contracts. OTC is responsible for licensing research materials to companies.
