Single Discipline Expertise

For clients who prefer a tiered approach to developing a larger cancer program,
MD Anderson can help build a co-branded extension focused on a specific treatment modality.

Our radiation therapy model has been very successful domestically, and we are pursuing the development of similar models internationally. Medical oncology and surgical oncology centers are also being considered.

Comprehensive Cancer Product Lines

For clients seeking a more complete cancer program product line, we can provide expertise to develop a co-branded, multidisciplinary extension that conforms to MD Anderson’s world-renowned standards and quality measures. This comprehensive approach includes facilities and infrastructure requirements, staffing plans and other critical operational programs and policies under the control of MD Anderson.

Our rigorous process begins by understanding the capabilities and vision of potential partners. The result is a collaborative approach to creating a customized, full-service extension of MD Anderson with the clinical oversight expected from a world leader in cancer care.

Operations and Management Expertise

We assist clients with proven methods of operating and managing a cancer specialty hospital or a cancer program within the framework of a larger health care system. This expertise can be part of a consulting service, cancer product line or single-discipline extension. The degree of our direct involvement in daily operations and management is mutually determined and customized to meet the needs of each client.

Clinical Programs

We provide multidisciplinary, faculty expertise in developing new models for clinical care delivery around the world.

This may include additional training for your faculty at MD Anderson and/or transplantation of MD Anderson expertise to your facility. In this model, key leaders are trained at MD Anderson for future clinical and administrative roles within co-branded extensions.

As we design clinical systems for single–discipline and comprehensive cancer extensions, we strive to replicate the MD Anderson model of care through a blended provider approach. The core leadership team and clinical professional are educated at MD Anderson or are from our campus. The remainder of the clinical care team is trained to MD Anderson’s standards.

Under this program, the client provides the necessary infrastructure and we provide the medical and operational knowledge to help build the teams. MD Anderson, with our partner, shares the responsibility to jointly recruit and train health care providers to ensure the endeavor’s success.

Education and Training

Collaboration in education and training is well developed at MD Anderson, with fellows, visiting scientists, nurses and other medical professionals participating in a number of initiatives. Programs cover key aspects of cancer care delivery, research and prevention.

Our international education/training center provides intensive programs through short courses, workshops and other activities across our operations. This venue is the focus for programs that bring national and international visitors to MD Anderson’s campus in Houston, Texas.

Research

Research collaborations are an important component of MD Anderson. Many of our faculty work together with colleagues from international centers where they may have trained or where their trainees have returned. These collaborations have resulted in publications with more than 3,500 scientists from 68 countries over a recent five-year period. Each research collaboration can be tailored to the needs and capabilities of our clients.

Several formal institutional collaborations focused on extensive interactions in basic, translational and clinical research, cancer prevention, clinical care and education have been undertaken to facilitate relationships between faculty.
