A Discussion of Test Results PhotoCancer often involves other medical issues, both during and after treatment. M. D. Anderson's Internal Medicine Center is made up primarily of physicians from endocrinology and general internal medicine, each providing comprehensive evaluation, treatment and management of cancer or cancer-related health issues:

Endocrine Neoplasia & Hormonal Disorders
Treatment of all malignant or benign endocrine tumors, thyroid cancer, endocrine complications from cancer and cancer therapies, general endocrine disorders and metabolic disorders. Also offers testing and assessment of inherited endocrine syndromes, including multiple endocrine neoplasia.

General Internal Medicine
Assesses the medical needs of patients with cancer, addresses medical complications of cancer and cancer treatments, as well as hypertension, diabetes and general medical disorders in cancer patients. Also offers evaluation and management or appropriate referral of patients with suspicion of cancer. The Fatigue Clinic offers medical management of cancer-related fatigue.

Infectious Diseases
Assesses the needs of immunocompromised cancer patients with infections, and those who are at risk for infections. Provides diagnosis and treatment for bacterial as well as fungal and viral infections in cancer patients, with special emphasis on prevention, including immunization and immune enhancement.

Life After Cancer Care
Provides comprehensive assessment of cancer and cancer treatment-related medical needs of cancer survivors, and recommendations for further evaluation and long-term follow-up.
